What You May or May Not Know…

Ah the world of blogdom. Exciting huh? Well I’m excited so deal with it!

This is supposed to be my about me page. So I’ll tell you about me, without divulging too much information. Like I mention before I just moved to Austin at the beginning of February. I love Austin. There are around 537 bars/restaurants in this area, and I want to make my way through them all.

I came from the good ol’ city of Denton, Tx where I was out almost every night getting into some kind of trouble. I had an awesome Denton crew I ventured out with to bars/venues like Lucky Lou’s, Rubber Gloves, and Hailey’s to name a few. I loved all those bars because I always felt at home. I always had friends. Most of the time I even got free drinks! In Austin, I’m 21 again.

I came here to start over, to (as cheesy as it sounds) get a fresh start. I loved all my friends and I was VERY lucky to have a father that I’m close with. I was his roommate, but he paid our rent. It was a great situation. But I needed change. Several people asked me why I was doing this. I don’t have an answer. The only way I can explain this is that I was getting too comfortable. I mean, I grew up in Denton and I’m not sure I could grow there any more. I was sad to leave my friends, most of my friends I have known for quite a few years, and I know it was hard for a few of them too. My good friends know it was hard to leave for another reason, but I promised not to stay for said reason because it didn’t work out so well the first time. So here I am, starting over. I believe the best way to describe my feelings is bittersweet.

Like I said though: Boy! I love it! I’m living like a spoiled little brat at the time being, my dear family offered me the guest room of their home, so I took them up on the offer and promised to be out by summer. Living with them is much different from home, but it’s fun! There are six of us in the house, five girls and my poor uncle. My cousins I have considered my little sisters my whole life, and my aunt has always been very helpful to me, so I feel close to them. It’s pretty sweet.

As far as going out in Austin, I think I have only been to the same bar twice, and the rest of the time its been different bars for different nights. I got a job working for Examiner.com reviewing bars in the area that I can’t wait to start. The kinks are still getting worked out, but hopefully it will be up and running in no time. I like having to make my own friends, even though I haven’t really done so yet. Thankfully I had a couple already here, and I’m finding out more people live here than I knew. I’ve also had a few visitors from Denton, which I will tell you about in my blog. I know I will have many more in the future and in advance, I thank you visitors!

So I guess that’s the info on me. Fun right? Hopefully that will give you some insight on why I wanted to do this. I also hope that you guys continue reading and enjoy!
